Gaia’s Riddle is an SMP (survival multiplayer) experience and a Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 modpack about living (and playing) collectively in a world destabilized by climate change.
The question is not how to save the world but how to live differently in it…. together. Gaia’s Riddle weaves some of the best community mods, original narrative design and an integrated solar powered server to create a unique and unforgettable SMP experience taking place over 10 weeks.
CUSTOM MODPACK FOR JAVA MINECRAFT
We’ve chosen mods that compliment the themes of the SunBlock project, with a focus on power and technology, multiplayer survival, and beautiful terrain generation.
There will be many challenges to overcome: dangerous storms, rampant pollution, thirst, injuries, and more.
Above all, the server that the world is hosted on is entirely solar-powered— do we balance how we play, or will the lights go out?

We’ve woven a loose narrative that pairs perfectly with Minecraft’s self-directed sandbox playstyle.
Brave it alone or work together. Uncover clues, gear up, and weather the storms.

MODS WITH SOLAR DATA
Players can monitor the status of the server battery through our custom Solar HUD mod. Real-time updates show how much power is being generated and consumed.
With constant access to this dynamic data, we’re dreaming up new ways to bring the power of the sun into Minecraft. Tools, weapons, mobs…What mod would you make?
